Um of course you can! Boudoir has been stretched out from the original term being “a women’s bedroom”. I would call your session more of a spicy maternity session 😉 Not only is it ok to have one, you should be able to capture your beauty and strength any damn way you want. I love helping women celebrate their body and how amazing and beautiful it is. Boudoir has been gaining popularity, and asking for Boudoir Maternity Photography style is pretty common. So let me share some inspiration and give you some handy links to my two favorite items in my client’s closet for Boudoir that look amazing during Maternity Sessions.
I seriously love this body suit. It fits an XS to XXL. I have black, red and nude. It stretches with your body and looks great with a more moody image, with the rhinestones adding that extra pop.
Most Photographers will have a client closet with items for you to choose from. This makes life ALOT easier, so you just show up. But if your photographer doesn’t, don’t worry, I got you! Here are some tips on items to have with you for your session besides the outfits you picked.
Many Boudoir Styled Maternity Sessions have images where less is more to highlight your beautiful bump.
I recommend having your “prop shoes” with you so you can pop them on for an image, then comfortable shoes or slides for walking around in between. I really think shoes can add a fun pop to images.
As much as many photographers are a whiz at Photoshop, still this could throw off your whole image. I recommend a thong nude and strapless bra close to skin tone. I would not call it a must have but as with the photo above, you could do nipple pasties instead.
I can tell you from my own personal session, I was so thirsty after. Photoshoots are hard work! Make sure to keep yourself taken care of, and maybe make it a treat because you deserve it!
I hope this list helps you with preparing for your session. Here is another fan favorite and my own favorite as well for body jewelry for a session.
Again my favorite with a more dark and moody session.
